2020 Broncos Offseason Road Map

2019 was ultimately another season of failure--once again, no playoffs, no winning record. While there is reason to hope that this skid could end in 2020, it's clear that it must end soon. This type of consistent losing is very unusual in Denver, and does not meet the high expectations that the Broncos espouse, something that John Elway should know very well.

Examining A Possible Contract Extension For Connor McGovern

Last offseason, I advocated a "wait and see" approach for any multiyear extension for Connor McGovern. Well, the Broncos have indeed waited, and what we've seen is someone who is playing every single snap at a high level. There are now calls (such as this emphatic one from Matt McChesney) for him to indeed get that multiyear extension. Let's take a look at what McGovern could expect for his second contract in the NFL.

Examining Possible Contract Extensions for Justin Simmons and Will Parks

The Broncos will have a number of pending unrestricted free agents for the 2020 offseason. Thus, while Broncos news is light, this is a good time of year to conduct a series on what it could take to proactively reduce that number by extending players that the team may like to keep in Denver long term.

This series will begin with Justin Simmons and Will Parks. Both play the same position, both have opportunities to start at that position, and, with both being acquired in the 2016 NFL Draft, both are entering the final years of their rookie contracts.
